PROJECT POSITION
The disappearance of a river is not an empty landscape. It is ecological loss, cultural memory and a question of return.

Landscape & research pilot

01

The disappearing ecosystem

The project reflects on the transformation of river ecosystems and the disappearance of the tugai forests of Central Asia — living landscapes whose survival depends on fragile water regimes.

02

A twelve-metre transect

The garden is organised as a linear sequence. Walking through it becomes a compressed journey across ecological abundance, loss and the possibility of recovery rather than a view of one fixed composition.

03

Three acts

‘Living River’ begins as a dense, active environment. ‘Channel of Memory’ moves toward a dry, almost empty landscape. ‘Seed of Return’ introduces the first conditions through which life might begin again.

04

Research through a public landscape

As a pilot, the garden turns an abstract research hypothesis into a physical and communicable experience. Water, succession, memory and ecosystem services become materials for both spatial design and public conversation.

CONNECTED RESEARCH

Pilot / Regenerative landscape & ecosystem services

Olga identifies the show garden as a pilot project: a spatial test of the research branch concerned with water systems, ecological succession, landscape memory and the return of ecosystem value.

PROJECT PRACTICE / WORK WITH OLGA

Bring a complex site into focus.

For clients, developers, cultural institutions and design teams that need a strong spatial idea grounded in place, climate and public value.

01

Concept & creative direction

Architectural concept, competition narrative and a coherent design position across scales.

02

Site & territory strategy

Reading the land, programme, climate and stakeholder conditions before form is fixed.

03

Design review & advisory

An independent critique of a project’s idea, spatial logic, environmental value and communication.

04

Project storytelling

A clear visual and verbal narrative for clients, juries, partners, publications and public dialogue.
